Psychological testing is a term used to refer to a broad array of evaluations – intelligence, academic, neuroppsychological and emotional assessments that can provide essential information about a child or an adult. This information is useful for diagnosing and creating treatment initiatives or for determining the most appropriate educational interventions.
Testing is appropriate when clinicians, parents, teachers or the person him/herself feels that something is not “quite right” with respect to development, academic performance, skills like attention or memory or even basic behavior. All psychological evaluations should be performed by a licensed clinical psychologist.
